You create your username and password when you first join GEDA. GEDA is UNABLE to see any passwords (for security purposes); therefore, we cannot give it to you. You can retrieve your username by emailing email@example.com and requesting it. If you do not know your password you will need to click "Forgot Your Password?" on the homepage and follow the directions to reset your password. GEDA recommends keeping your password in a secure location so that you are able to find it when you need to log into the website. Registration for Spring Workshop and Annual Conference is quite simple. PLEASE NOTE - once you begin the registration process - YOU MUST CONTINUE all the way through the payment and confirmation screens to complete the registration process.
The Event Page for the Workshops and Conferences will contain a series of links. These links will include:
Register (An orange button that you will click on this to register for the Event.)
View Sessions. (This is a simple listing of all general sessions, receptions, meals, etc at the Event.)
View the people who have already registered (This link will show you a list of all of the event registrants.)
Most importantly, LOG IN FIRST! Once logged in, click on the "Register" button; it will take you to the registration page. Review your information and make any corrects and additions to the Registration Information. Select the orange "Next" button at the bottom of your screen. Select the appropriate payment button for you (Member, Member with Guest, etc) and then check the Optional Activity in which you would like to participate (if any). Click on "Save and Finalize Registration" You will then be taken to the Checkout page. Complete all of the billing information and click "Proceed to Confirmation". You will then be taken to a Confirmation page. You have now registered for the event.
There are two options for Registration for Conferences for non-members. You can either select to join GEDA while registering for the Conference (this way - you can pay the member rate for the Conference) or you can choose to NOT join the Association and just attend the Event.
From the Event Registration page - click the orange "Register" button. You will see a box at the top of the page that says "Are you a Member?". Every one must register either as a member or as a non-member event attendee, so click on the word "registering" in green to register yourself with GEDA. If you click the ". You WILL need to create a user name and password for continued access to your Conference Registration. We recommend using your email address as your user name. EVERY dues-paying member of GEDA is eligible to receive scholarship money. Inactive members or those that have allowed their memberships to expire are NOT eligible. The only exception is the Penn Worden Grant. This grant is designed for non-members as a way of engaging them in GEDA. To apply for the scholarship click here.
Annual dues are due for ALL members on January 1 of each year. Dues are not prorated for anyone. Invoices will be sent in November each year in anticipation of the January 1 due date. Special note - if you pay your dues starting in September, that payment will carry forward through the end of the following year.
All memberships are held by the individual. If you leave your company - the membership goes with you; it does not stay with the company. Memberships cannot be transferred from one person to another, neither can member benefits be shared by several people. (i.e. We cannot include multiple email addresses for one membership so that extra people are able to see our news and information.)
When you log in to the system at www.geda.org, there is a link on the right hand side of the page under My Profile. The third option down is Manage Profile, then click under "Information and Settings" click "Edit Bio". (Don't forget to add a photograph of yourself!)
Each of GEDA's 15 Committees and any Task Forces that may arise from year to year have their own page on our website. They can be accessed by going to the Committees Page on our orange menu bar. Hover your mouse pointer over the words "Get Involved" and a list will drop down, on that list select "Standing Committees". Click on the Committee most likely to house the document you'd like to see and it will likely be there. Please keep in mind that almost all documents are for members only. They will be on a documents page linked from each Committee Page. For example, if you're looking for an Education-related document, you'd go to the Education & Workforce Development Committee page, click on "Click here to see related documents" and then the document you which to see. This page is password-protected for members only. If you do not see the information you are looking for email email@example.com, and we will research the topic to find the answer.
To post a job on the job board click here and register as a "Recruiter". Once you have registered as a recruiter click "Job Center" on the orange bar at the top of the webpage. Then click "Submit an Opening at the top of the page. Proceed as instructed. Your job will appear on the job board as soon as it is approved by the administrator.
