CSM BAKERY SOLUTIONS TO RELOCATE TO SANDY SPRINGS

Worldwide industry leader to establish new global headquarters, create 120 jobs

ATLANTA, July 21, 2015Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that CSM Bakery Solutions, a company with origins in the Netherlands, will relocate its global headquarters to Fulton County, creating 120 jobs and investing more than $5.5 million into Sandy Springs. CSM Bakery Solutions is an international leader in its industry, producing a broad range of bakery ingredients, products and services.

Mary Ellen McClanahan, project manager and director of entrepreneur and small business development at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), represented CSM Bakery Solutions on behalf of the state of Georgia, partnering with Andrea Hall, Economic Development Director, of the City of Sandy Springs, Brenda Robbins, Senior Project Manager, Economic Development, of the Georgia Power Company and Gregg Simon, Senior Director, Economic Development, of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce .  Read more

 

TECH LEADER IN 3D MAPPING AND SPATIAL DATA ANALYTICS TO ESTABLISH NORTH AMERICAN HEADQUARTERS IN ATLANTA

Privately-Held GeoDigital to Create Approximately 50 High-Tech Jobs by Year-End 2016

 

ATLANTA, July 20, 2015The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that GeoDigital International Inc., a leader in big spatial data and analytics, will move its North American headquarters from Canada to Atlanta, creating approximately 50 new high-tech jobs in Fulton County over the next year.  Based in Ontario since its founding in 2005, GeoDigital will move its headquarters to an 11,200-square-foot, state-of-the-art office space in Atlantic Station. 

 

Shirlynn Brownell, GDEcD Project Manager, assisted GeoDigital on behalf of Georgia and partnered with the Gregg Simon, Senior Director, Economic Development, of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Brenda Robbins, Senior Project Manager, Economic Development, of the Georgia Power Company.  Read more

 

MURRAY COUNTY INLAND TERMINAL TO OPEN IN 2018

Service area for port facility includes North Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee & Kentucky

ATLANTA, July 28, 2015Gov. Nathan Deal, the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), Murray County and CSX Transportation signed a Memorandum of Agreement today to establish the Appalachian Regional Port in Chatsworth. Its service area will include North Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and parts of Kentucky.

 

“This new inland terminal will open the door for economic opportunity and job creation for Northwest Georgia and the region,” said Deal. “By providing a direct link to the Port of Savannah, the Appalachian Regional Port will create and expand international markets for businesses, and further the economic success of the Southeastern U.S.”

Murray County Commissioner Brittany Pittman said the inland terminal is also a big win for economic development in her area.  Read more…
