The 2016 GEDA Annual Conference this year was based on how “Georgia IS: Growing, Innovating and Succeeding” and the conference committee worked hard to provide sessions and speakers who were focused on how to portray that message while providing our members with information and practices that could be taken back and applied in our own communities. The diversity in our state and in our member organizations makes it difficult to provide material that appeals to everyone, so the committee truly did an amazing job in providing appropriate content. From learning how to grow our local organizations, to creating innovation spaces, to learning of the success of the foreign auto makers – the conference was successful! Additionally, the conference was a chance to network with our peers - and with over 400 registered this year, there was plenty of networking going on! Finally, a special thank you to our sponsors – many of whom invest in our organization year after year – and without whom our conference would not be possible. On a personal note, I know that we all appreciate the work done by our staff, but it bears repeating that they are the glue that holds everything together. So once again, as the conference chair, I am deeply grateful to everyone who had a hand in making this year the best it could be!
