Spring Workshop 2016 Recap

By Kevin Shea, President, GEDA
The GEDA 2016 Spring Workshop,Georgia’s Workforce: Lighting the Way, received tremendously positive feedback from attendees. Mark Lautman, of Lautman Economic Architecture in Albuquerque, NM, provided great information and ideas about bringing workforce and economic development closer. Roger Tutterow had good news about Georgia’s economy and did his usual fantastic job informing us. And for those of you who missed Steve Hester of Chick-fil-A, you missed a treat--literally, as Steve gave everyone a coupon for a free sandwich or salad. Steve provided a funny, moving and insightful look into what makes Chick fil-A a great enterprise. See the YouTube video Steve shared with the "Chick-fil-A" song by comedian Tim Hawkins.
Our panels were full of great ideas and experiences that we could take home and put to use in all our communities. The weather tried to put a damper on Thursday afternoon activities, but we were able to get in most all of them. Other than a little bolt or two of lightning on the golf course that cut the outing short, Mother Nature was kind to GEDA.
Please join us in thanking our SW16 Sponsors, including our Champions Circle Sponsors, and particularly our Platinum Sponsors, Brunswick & Glynn County Development Authority and the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Their financial support helps GEDA create great programming and events for you--our members. Thanks to all our sponsors of the 2016 Spring Workshop.
