Optional Thursday Activities

  • Golf at the Jekyll Island Golf Club - $100
  • UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant Tour - $40.00
    • Join us for a tour of the University of Georgia's Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant facility in Brunswick.  The trip will begin by boarding the RV Georgia Bulldog, a 72-foot shrimp boat, for a cruise and trawl around beautiful St. Simons Sound.  While on the research vessel you will learn about Georgia’s fishing and shrimping industries, conduct a research trawl to see what kind of aquatic creatures live in the Sound and learn about the ecosystems that support coastal industries.  On our return to the dock, Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant faculty and staff will provide an overview of their programs and mission in support of coastal Georgia such as advising communities on sea level rise, revitalizing Georgia's oyster industry, supporting coastal tourism, and other means of leveraging UGA's vast expertise critical to our coast.
    • Departs the Westin Jekyll Island at 12:00pm
    • Transportation and Lunch included

  • Georgia Ports Authority and Car Processing Facility Bus Tour - $30.00
    • This tour of the Georgia Ports Authority facility in Brunswick will leave from the Westin at 1:30pm, and return to the Westin at 4:00 / 4:30 pm.  You will tour the port and one of the car processing facilities at the port, and discover the importance of these facilities to Georgia’s economy.  You will eat lunch on your own before you leave for the tour.

Consent for Use of Photographic Images

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, GEDA meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to GEDA’s use and distribution (now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

    • A registrant who does not submit a written cancellation, or attend the Spring Workshop, is considered a "No Show.”  No-Shows are not eligible for refunds or credits, and are still liable for outstanding balances. 
    • Those who are ill and have a doctor’s excuse or have a death in the family will be excused.
    • The last day to receive a refund of registration fees paid is the close of business (5:00 p.m.) seven days before the Spring Workshop begins.
    • Substitutions will be accepted at any time.
    • All cancellation requests must be received in writing (email or hard copy) and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.
    • Refund requests must include the name of the attendee.
    • When possible, refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment.
    • For those who have registered and choose the “bill me” or “pay by check” option, they are still subject to the refund policy.
